Episcopal Church Women
While our historic name is Episcopal Church Women, we’re open to people of all gender identities. We plan the annual bazaar fundraiser, and support one another throughout the year. We meet monthly, usually at someone’s house. We offer friendship, fellowship and social events. Contact Laura Myers: lemyers123@gmail.com or Jen DeSimone: mothra30@gmail.com for information.
Welcome!
Community Garden
The Community Garden at St. Mary’s is a place where we can bear witness to Jesus’ way of love in our relationship to the land. We believe that when we commit to planting more (be it beehives or herb gardens), praying more (in word and deed), and proclaiming more (through our stories and our bounty), we share the loving, liberating and life-giving good news of God’s love with all. When we do this, we find ourselves, our community and our world transformed.
Garden plots are open and available to the community. Reserve plots through our church office: 760-789-0890, ramonacommunitygarden@gmail.com. All plots are on St. Mary’s property adjacent to the church building.
Prayers & Squares
We meet at the church on Tuesday mornings at 10 am. Join us!
What is a Prayer Quilt? Can you touch a prayer? Can you pull it close and feel its comfort? You can if it's part of a prayer quilt.
Chapter 24 of Prayers & Squares was established in July of 2000 at St. Mary's. It started in 1992 at Hope United Methodist church in Rancho Bernardo, California and is a non-profit world-wide prayer ministry that has been making prayer quilts.
The idea behind these prayer quilts is simple. A heavy thread is used to take stitches through the quilt layers, and the ends are left free to be tied with a square knot. As each knot is tied, a silent prayer is offered for someone in special need. The quilt is then given to that person. This is not just a gift of a quilt, it is a gift of love and prayer. It is a statement of faith in God and in His power to comfort, strengthen and heal.
Before any quilt is prepared for a recipient, we always ask if they would like to receive our gift of prayer and what their prayer needs are. We depend on contributions from our members and others to support this ministry. We never accept any form of payment for our quilts.
On Sunday the quilt(s) are displayed and blessed during the worship service. Our members also pray for the recipient and tie knots before and after the service.
You may request a prayer quilt for a family member, friend, neighbor or anyone else you know who needs a prayer. To obtain a prayer quilt you must submit a request form to the church office either by picking up a form at the office or filling out the form below.
